Doug developed a love for music at an early age and bought his first guitar while in high school. Inspired by many other guitar players, and a lot of great songs from a variety of different styles of music, he was driven to learn to play guitar quickly.
By dedicating many hours to practicing, he taught himself how to play guitar and sing. Later, Doug began performing live music in a three-piece acoustic group, then played in several rock’n’roll bands, and eventually began playing solo acoustic shows. Over the years Doug has performed well over 500 solo acoustic shows in the Triangle area. He currently performs at various venues including restaurants, taverns, bars, coffee shops, private parties, and special events.
Doug strives to offer the highest quality vocals and guitar playing at each of his shows. It is his goal to make sure that the people who hear him, and those who hire him, are both impressed and satisfied with the quality and professionalism of the musical entertainment he provides. Doug plays and sings a selection of some of the very best in classic rock music, along with some classic country favorites, and more than 30 original songs. In appropriate venues, Doug takes copies of his song list and hands them out to members of the audience to encourage requests and create an atmosphere of shared fun and good times.
